Cory Frye is what happens when grease meets fire and forms a figure about 5’9” who could pass for an assistant high-school football coach in any small coastal city. He was born in San Diego, California, in the early 1970s, but wasted most of the ’80s and ’90s -- and nine months of the Millennium -- in the yawning chasm of Albany, Oregon, where he worked as a busboy, Target cart attendant, and, eventually, sportswriter, music/film critic, and journalist.
