Aquarium Drunkard Presents: Ridin' Along

Tally ho. Road trip season is upon us. In case you weren't paying attention, the first of the holy trinity of warm weather three-day weekends is Monday, May 26th. As such, this week's playlist is geared for the road...with a number of 'train songs' included without even meaning to. So I suppose it is Amtrak-ready as well. We kick off nice and smooth, with the windows rolled way down, to the tune of Jerry Jeff Walker's "All About Her Eyes" and a demo version of Donald Thomas' "Calling Me Home", before slipping into some Townes Van Zandt and fuzzed out Link Wray and Burrito Brothers. We then take a left turn with some Johnny Adams and Big Mama Thornton, before Nashville cum Canadian soul singer Jackie Shane takes the wheel with his indelible cover of William Bell's "Any Other Way". Nilsson pops up next with "Driving Along" and we close out eleven tracks later with The Hombres. Enjoy the in between...it is the journey.
