Out Now: Chicago, CHICAGO II: STEVEN WILSON REMIX

When Chicago released their second album, the appropriately-entitled CHICAGO II, they blew their fans’ minds with the musical amalgam that they’d constructed, one which incorporated everything from orchestral music to heavy rock. As such, many have hoped for decades that the band would deliver a mix of the album that would bring out the myriad of nuances hidden within the music.

At last, all of that hoping has paid off: CHICAGO II: STEVEN WILSON REMIX is now available on CD, with a double-LP vinyl set on tap for release later in 2017.

Wilson has performed a stereo remix from the 16-track multi-track tapes, enabling him to bring out heretofore-hidden elements within the music. The end result: a new stereo version of CHICAGO II that boasts clearness, punch and definition that it didn't have before. It’s still the same album you know and love, though, as you’ll realize as soon as classic songs like “24 or 6 to 4,” “Make Me Smile,” and “Colour My World” begin to whiz by.
