Remembering Jerry Wexler

Jerry Wexler was born on this day in 1917. An important figure in the history and development of the Atlantic and Warner Bros. labels, he began his career as a music journalist and then became a music producer for heavyweights such as Ray Charles, Led Zeppelin, Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield, and Wilson Pickett. One of the most highly regarded A&R men in music history, Rolling Stone deemed Wexler "The Man Who Invented Rhythm & Blues."
