Today’s Rocktober Releases…

As you already know if you read our post last week, it’s not just October here at Rhino Records, it’s Rocktober, which means that we’re offering up new limited-edition vinyl reissues every Tuesday in October, and as today is Tuesday, we’re here to let you know what you can now go pick up at your friendly neighborhood record store or online music retailer.

Alice Cooper – BILLION DOLLAR BABIES – Green, yellow, & orange marble colored vinyl with 1 billion dollar bill insert, Only available in the U.S., Limited edition of 3,000 copies, $24.98

Hello hooray, it’s a reissue of the album that was, at the time of its initial release, the most successful Alice Cooper album ever. It’s still considered one of Alice’s best efforts, but that stands to reason when you consider that it features such classic Cooper cuts as “No More Mister Nice Guy,” “Elected, the title track, and – as you may have remembered when you read the first two words of this piece – “Hello Hooray.”

Small Faces – FIRST STEP – Orange colored vinyl, $19.98
If you’re from the UK, then you’re probably smirking at the fact that the band is credited with the “Small” in front of their name, but that’s just how Faces’ debut album, FIRST STEP, has always been listed in North America. Rod Stewart, Ronnie Lane, Ronnie Wood, Ian McLagan, and Kenney Jones were still finding their feet as Faces, but any band would be “Flying” high if they had this as their debut LP.

The Stooges – THE STOOGES – Gold and brown colored vinyl, $19.98
Produced by John Cale of The Velvet Underground, The Stooges’ self-titled album is still a mind-blowing listen now, so you can only imagine how it went over back in 1969. Songs like “1969,” “I Wanna Be Your Dog,” “No Fun,” and “Real Cool Time” are the stuff of legend, so if you don’t own a copy of the album, this is a good time to fix that, because your collection is woefully incomplete without it.
