  • To our friends and fans:

Thank you for allowing us to relive our music from past years.

Our trails of music have been very happy, blessing our own hearts . . . and we hope yours too.

    --Dale Evans Rogers

Music is a dominant theme in my earliest childhood memories. When I was a very small girl, Dad had marathon rehearsals with The Sons Of The Pioneers-- many of the sessions ending only when someone's voice would "give out." At home, Mom and Dad were always rehearsing for their next appearance or tour, and we enjoyed listening to them as much as everyone else did. Music most certainly played a major part in the longevity of Mom and Dad's 50-year personal and 53-year professional partnership.

But by far my most precious memories are of family car trips. Although we kids often sang at home, we liked singing in the car the best. That's when Dad would ask us for our favorite songs and encourage us to join in. We sang hymns, spirituals, anthems, cowboy songs, folk music, big band standards, and even the current "Hit Parade." Dad knew every silly song there was, but he really delighted in making up new ones as he drove along, and he enjoyed our groans as much as our giggles. It sure made the miles go by quickly.

This collection of music contains many of those family favorites. I hope you enjoy them and that you will want to sing along just like we always did.

    --Cheryl Rogers-Barnett
