Miami Pop Festival
This is Chuck Berry at the Miami Pop Festival where I was the official photographer because my friend Ron Jacobs was the guy who put it on. I was on stage -- it's nice if you can stand on stage because then you can shoot at the same level as the performers. Most photographers in most situations are down in the pit or in front of the stage, so you gotta view up under their chin, or looking up their nose. So it's nice when you get to shoot right on their same level. That's the only time I ever saw him in person, and it was a great show.
