John Sebastian

Here's John Sebastian tie-dying at a place called The Farm, which was just above Warner Brothers off Barham Blvd., behind where the Oakwood Apartments are now. There was a field there before, with some houses way back in the field -- kind of an artistic commune, I would say. John Sebastian moved there after The Lovin' Spoonful and after Woodstock; this is September '69, which would have been right after Woodstock (which was August '69). He moved there and learned how to tie-dye from a lady named "Tie-Dye Annie" and he tie dyed every piece of clothing that he owned, including his sheets and his pillow cases. Here he is in the midst of doing that; behind him is Peter Bergman from the Firesign Theatre, who was also learning how to tie-dye.
