That's from the New Barbarians tour in 1979. I was hired to go on the road for a week, and after the week was up, we had all kind of become good friends -- they were used to me, so they hired me for the next three weeks. So I was on the road with them for about a month in '79. This picture was taken on a little Learjet flying from L.A. to San Diego, and it was those two and me and Keith's girlfriend, who was sitting next to me -- you can see her foot right there. They were like a captive audience, 'cause I was sitting right across from them with the camera. The light was great, and they were in a good mood, and they were just clowning around the whole time -- they have a Cockney in-joke about just about everything. They kept me pretty well entertained.
Had you ever worked with The Stones before?
I'd taken a couple of concerts, one of 'em I went to with Stephen Stills and went backstage. So I'd met them, but I'd never been on the road with them before. It was great fun.
