Release of Los Angeles Nuggets Boxed Set Celebrated With In Store Signing And Performances by Jackie DeShannon, Keith Allison, Danny Hutton, P.F. Sloan, The Peanut Butter Conspiracy, and The Standells At Amoeba, Hollywood on September 22

To celebrate the release of the Where The Action Is! Los Angeles Nuggets 1965-1968 compilation, some of the brightest stars of the SoCal '60s scene return to the Sunset Strip for performances at Amoeba Music, Hollywood. The new four-CD boxed set is the latest installment in Rhino's successful Nuggets series mapping an alternative musical history of the 1960s.

On street date, September 22, six acts will take the stage at Amoeba Records in Hollywood, backed by a band of L.A. music all-stars, to perform their songs from the collection -- folk-rock queen Jackie DeShannon ("Splendor In The Grass"), former Raider Keith Allison ("Action, Action, Action," the theme song to the'60s TV show Where The Action Is!), Three Dog Night founder Danny Hutton ("Roses And Rainbows"), singer-songwriter P.F. Sloan ("Halloween Mary"), surviving Peanut Butter Conspiracy members Alan Brackett, John Merrill, and Lance Fent ("Eventually"), and founder/keyboardist Larry Tamblyn and bassist John Fleck of The Standells ("Riot On The Sunset Strip") The performances will be followed by a signing of the set as compilation co-producer Andrew Sandoval delivers a DJ set featuring garage, sunshine pop, and singer-songwriter gems from the boxed set. With so much of the talent heard on Los Angeles Nuggets still based in the L.A. area, who knows who else might show up?

The first 100 fans who pre-order Where The Action Is! Los Angeles Nuggets at Amoeba.com will be ensured of a place at the signing and a limited edition Los Angeles Nuggets T-shirt (pre-orders are for pickup at Amoeba stores or for mail order only). Fans who purchase or pick up their pre-ordered box set on September 22nd at any Amoeba location will also receive a limited edition Los Angeles Nuggets poster (quantities are VERY limited -- while supplies last).
