Aretha and her band are HOT, rocking a house full of San Franscisco hippies with raw soul power. I especially love the cover songs -- she re-imagines pop tunes by white dudes like Paul Simon, Stephen Stills, and Paul McCartney and makes them sound like they were always meant to be performed by a black woman with a funky backing band. Best rendition of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" I've ever heard (and there are dozens of them out there). Plus, a cameo by Ray Charles! How can you go wrong?
