Black Sabbath On 180-gram Vinyl
It's the summer of Sabbath! Black Sabbath's SABBATH...
Released in 1982, the double-album LIVE EVIL is a testament to the sheer power and stage might of the Dio-fronted line-up of legendary metal group Black Sabbath: Ronnie James Dio (lead vocals), Tony Iommi (guitar), Terry “Geezer” Butler (bass) and Vinny Appice (drums). The only official live recording from this brief but influential Sabbath era, the 2-CD set features performances from Seattle, Dallas and San Antonio. The sound is in-your-face and aggressive, a virtual front-row seat for epic versions of their signature tracks including “Neon Knights,” “Children Of The Sea,” “The Sign Of The Southern Cross” and “Heaven And Hell.” Also featured are live takes on Sabbath classics including “War Pigs,” “Iron Man” and “Paranoid.” Rhino's reissue of this in-concert metal masterpiece features extensive new liner notes and 2008 interviews with band members.
Black Sabbath's Dio-fronted line-up reformed in 2006 under the name Heaven And Hell when the singer convened with founding members Tony Iommi and Terry “Geezer” Butler - along with drummer Vinny Appice - to record new tracks for Rhino's compilation Black Sabbath: The Dio Years. The chemistry generated by their reunion led to an acclaimed Heaven And Hell world tour, live album and DVD in 2007. A new studio album - the line-up's first since 1992 - is slated for 2009.
LIVE EVIL has also been reissued on vinyl in all original packaging.
