The most comprehensive two-disc Doors anthology ever assembled, THE VERY BEST OF THE DOORS features hits, album cut essentials and rarities totaling over 2-_ hours of music sounding better than ever - every track boasts a brand new 40th anniversary mix supervised by all the remaining Doors and Bruce Botnick, the band's original engineer and producer.

THE VERY BEST OF THE DOORS pulls tracks from all six studio albums the Doors recorded before Morrison's death including their historic 1967 debut, about which Rolling Stone wrote in naming it an "Essential Album of 1967," "In a year of historic debut albums, no record by a new American band so immediately electrified the world as The Doors, the first and best documentation of singer Jim Morrison's Byronic fury and the locomotive jazz-inflected drive of organist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore." The disc is also #42 on the magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time," and L.A. Woman and Strange Days also make that compendium of excellence, clocking in at #362 and #407, respectively.

This new and best-ever BEST OF encompasses all their biggest hits including the #1 smashes "Light My Fire" and "Hello I Love You" plus the #3 hit "Touch Me." It also presents signature classics including "L.A. Woman," "Roadhouse Blues," "Five To One," "Love Me Two Times," "People Are Strange," and "The End."
