After being out-of-print for over a decade, The Traveling Wilburys' music was reintroduced by Rhino in 2007 with the Traveling Wilburys Collection, a set compiling remastered editions of both of their now-classic albums with previously unreleased bonus tracks. The Wilburys stay in the spotlight as the expanded & remastered edition of the unique musical clan's second album, 1990's TRAVELING WILBURYS VOLUME 3, is now available individually for the first time.
With an all-star lineup featuring legendary artists Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff
Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty, the Traveling Wilburys were a one-of-a-kind musical phenomenon. The fact that they came together almost accidentally - they convened in a Southern California studio in 1988 to record "Handle With Care" as a b-side for a Harrison single - lends an exhilarating looseness to their sound. The five musicians had such a great time in the studio that they decided to continue the collaboration with an album's worth of songs which became the outfit's 1988 GRAMMY® winning debut album, Traveling Wilburys Volume 1.
TRAVELING WILBURYS VOLUME 3 was recorded without Orbison, who died in December 1988, but its songs are still full of the heart and spirit that made their musical "brotherhood" the stuff of legend. With Harrison and Lynne producing for a second time, "She's My Baby" and "Wilbury Twist" became radio hits. For Rhino's new expanded edition, the remastering was handled with care under the supervision of Jeff Lynne, and the bonus rarities "Nobody's Child" and "Runaway" round out the set.
Rhino's remastered & expanded edition of the group's GRAMMY® -winning debut album, 1988's Traveling Wilburys Volume 1, is also available as an individual title, as is their complete repertoire packaged as the Traveling Wilburys Collection.
