MORPHINEYes (180 Gram Vinyl)$24.98 Vinyl Forefathers of “low rock,” Morphine return to the spotlight with the re-issue of their 3rd album YES on 180-gram vinyl - in fact it's their only title available on vinyl. Originally released in March of 1995, YES was recorded at Fort Apache with Paul Q. Kolderie and the band sharing production credits. The album struck new ground for Morphine - its buzzing pop-driven singles “Honey White” and “Super Sex,” contrasting the band's standard moody minimalism on tracks such as “Scratch,” “All Your Way,” and “I Had My Chance.” Other highlights include 2 songs recorded on the road by the group's soundman Phil Davidson: "Sharks Patrol These Waters" (recorded for a Dutch television documentary) and "I Had My Chance" (recorded live at KCRW in Los Angeles). The Boston-based trio of Mark Sandman, Dana Colley and Billy Conway set themselves apart in the 90s modern rock world by foregoing the traditional three-piece setup in favor of a two-string slide bass, sax and drums. Their sound garnered a cult following most famously including MTV's lovable slackers, Beavis And Butthead. Selection # 10320 You really should take a look at these: |
