Firefall
FIREFALLFirefall Greatest Hits$11.98 CD Formed by ex-Flying Burrito Brother Rick Roberts, Firefall's easygoing, folk-inflected melodic rock - often with country flavors as well - was a popular favorite throughout the late 1970s. This single disc collection spotlights the Colorado-based band's mellow, harmonic sound with eighteen of their best tracks. In addition to Roberts - who handled vocals, guitar and songwriting for Firefall - the group encompassed other players with pedigrees from seminal roots/country-rock acts of the era. Drummer Michael Clarke had formerly been with the Burritos and the Byrds and bassist Mark Andes had played with Jo Jo Gunne. The line-up was rounded out with Jock Bartley and Larry Burnett - both on guitars and vocals - and David Muse on keyboards. Firefall first cracked the Billboard Top 10 with the 1976 #9 hit single “You Are The Woman,” which remained on the pop chart for fifteen weeks. It's featured here along with other stand-outs including the chart hits “Just Remember I Love You”-a #1 AC/#11 pop single-“Cinderella,” “So Long,” “Strange Way,” “Always” and 1976's “Livin' Ain't Livin',” their first charting single, which opens the disc.
