PEARL JAMImmagine In Cornice$19.98 DVD IMMAGINE IN CORNICE “PICTURE IN A FRAME” LIVE IN ITALY 2006, the new live concert film from Pearl Jam, chronicles the group's performances and features behind-the-scenes footage from five Italian shows during their 2006 European tour. The dates marked the first time they'd toured Europe since 2000. Color: 113 Mins. Directed by celebrated still photographer, filmmaker and longtime friend of Pearl Jam Danny Clinch, IMMAGINE IN CORNICE was shot in a variety of formats ranging from Super-8 to High Definition. Tour stops featured include the cities of Bologna, Milan, Pistoia, Torino and Verona, Italy at concerts in September 2006. Clinch's other film credits include the video portions for Bruce Springsteen's CD/DVD release Devils And Dust and the documentary We Have Arrived, about the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. On Pearl Jam's website, Clinch is quoted as saying, "Picture in a Frame is a film I've really wanted to makeā¦The band invited me to Italy and gave me the access I needed to show a side seldom seen by their fans. It has become a collaboration as well. The band even offered me some music that has never been heard and Mike went into the studio to create some more music for the soundscapes. This is a look at Pearl Jam that no one has seen yet. A trip through northern Italy with the band, through the document and through abstraction.” IMMAGINE IN CORNICE is Pearl Jam's first DVD release since 2003's Live At The Garden. It was produced by Linda Narvaez, with stereo and 5.1 music tracks mixed by Brett Eliason and recorded by John Burton. Among the highlights are songs from their acclaimed, politically charged 2006 album Pearl Jam - which David Fricke, in his review in Rolling Stone, called their “best in ten” [years] - including “Severed Hand” (recorded in Milan), “Life Wasted” (in Torino) and “World Wide Suicide,” experienced via clips from all the Italy tour dates. Also featured are prime stage versions of Pearl Jam classics including “Corduroy,” “Even Flow,” “Comatose,” “Porch,” “Better Man” and a take Neil Young's “Rockin' In The Free World.” Three bonus tracks are included as well: “Throw Your Arms Around Me,” “Yellow Ledbetter” and “A Quick One While He's Away,” with My Morning Jacket. The most popular American music group to emerge from the 1990s, Seattle-bred Pearl Jam defined the grunge era and transcended it - today they are mentioned in the same breath with all the greatest, most iconic bands in the rock and roll pantheon. Fronted by lead vocalist Eddie Vedder, Pearl Jam's line-up also includes bassist Jeff Ament and guitarists Stone Gossard and Mike McCready. Ace drummer Matt Cameron, who's toured and recorded with the band extensively over the years and keyboardist Boom Gaspar were also on board for the 2006 European tour dates featured here.
