LED ZEPPELINThe Song Remains The Same$24.98 CD The Song Remains The Same is also available in Collectible 180 Gram Vinyl Box edition. When Led Zeppelin announced they would reunite for a November 2007 Ahmet Ertegun Tribute concert in London - in honor of the late Atlantic Records founder and benefiting the charitable Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund - about 20 million fans mobbed the website holding the official ticket lottery, and crashed the site. While only the lucky few won admission, every one of Led Zeppelin's legions of fans can still experience them live, in peak form, via a deluxe 2-CD reissue of THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME (EXPANDED & REMASTERED SOUNDTRACK). Featuring music from their classic 1976 concert film, the set presents performances recorded at Zeppelin's now historic three-night stand at Madison Square Garden in July of 1973. Originally released in '76, the soundtrack now features six additional songs. On the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's web page regarding Led Zeppelin's 1995 induction, they write, “Led Zeppelin's sold-out concert tours became rituals of high-energy rock and roll theater. THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME…attests to the group's powerful and somewhat saturnalian appeal at the height of their popularity.” That power surges through the 2-CD reissue's fifteen songs, all remixed and remastered under the direct supervision of the band. Featured in the track listing are epic live performances of Led Zeppelin essentials including “Rock And Roll,” “Dazed And Confused,” “Stairway To Heaven” and “Whole Lotta Love.” The six bonus songs not included on the seminal 1976 release are: “Black Dog,” “Over the Hills and Far Away,” “Misty Mountain Hop,” “Since I've Been Loving You,” “The Ocean” and “Heartbreaker.” With the added material and remastering, THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME (EXPANDED & REMASTERED SOUNDTRACK), “differs substantially from the original soundtrack released in 1976,” said Jimmy Page, “and highlights the technical prowess of Kevin Shirley, who worked with us on How The West Was Won. When it comes to THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME, the expansion of the DVD and soundtrack are as good as it gets on the Led Zeppelin wish list.” In addition to the 2-CD set and the expanded DVD, a 4-LP vinyl edition will also be available. The package also boasts new liner notes by Academy Award®-winning director and former Rolling Stone editor Cameron Crowe (Almost Famous). Its release coincides with that of Mothership, the first-ever comprehensive 2-CD Led Zeppelin compilation. *Not on original soundtrack release Selection # 328252 You really should take a look at these: |
