DANIEL HOPEArtist Portrait$6.97 CD
Award-winning British violinist Daniel Hope is celebrated worldwide as one of the foremost - and most innovative - contemporary masters of his instrument. ARTIST PORTRAIT, a twelve-track compilation from Warner Classics & Jazz, presents a sequence of superb recordings informed by Hope's characteristic freshness and inspired insight. Known for his adventurous forays into contemporary music as well as his authentic performances of beloved classical violin repertoire, Hope plays pieces by composers from Shostakovich to Shankar on this diverse collection. Also featured are works by Bach, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Dvorák, Foulds, Berg and Britten. The New York Times wrote recently that Hope's, “thriving solo career...has been built on inventive programming and a probing interpretive style.” He also has won renown as the youngest-ever member - from 2002 to 2008 - of the legendary Beaux Arts Trio, and he is associate artistic director of the Savannah Music Festival, which recently commissioned “Celeste,” a new work by Stewart Copeland. Hope is the recipient of a Classical BRIT Award, and three ECHO Klassik Prizes, among many other honors. Selection # 433148 You really should take a look at these: |
