Now that we’ve restored The Monkees’ classic original albums by reissuing them with bonus tracks and remastered sound, it’s time for a box set that lives up to our current production standards as opposed to what were capable of a decade ago. Our original 4-CD Monkees collection, Listen To The Band, was released way back in 1991, so we’ve decided to scrap it, remaster it, revamp it, re-compile it, and re-design it—and the result is Music Box, which includes all the group’s greatest hits and all-time favorite rarities on four CDs spanning from their 1966 debut to their 1996 reunion. (For you ultra-diehards who think you’ve heard it all, two tracks are previously unreleased: “Of You,” an ultra-rare 1966 mix, and an unissued extended version of “Look Out (Here Comes Tomorrow).”) Award-winning/compilation producer Andrew Sandoval has overseen the new box as well as the massive 96-page booklet contained herein, jammed with a complete Monkees history, session details, chart info, and more, plus loads of vintage photos (some published here for the first time). Monkeemania is back...as if it ever went away!
