VARIOUS ARTISTSRock, Rhythm And Doo Wop Volume 2: More Of The Greatest Songs From Early Rock 'N' RollThis title is no longer available from Rhino Handmade. However, numbered copies from the original edition may be available at select retailers. In October 2001 Public Broadcasting System television stations across the U.S. broadcast a program entitled Rock, Rhythm And Doo Wop. Created as a fundraising event for local PBS stations everywhere, it was taped this past May 2001 before a live studio audience in Pittsburgh's Benedum Center. The show picked up where the two previous Rhino/WQED television events, Doo Wop 50 and Doo Wop 51 (both wildly successful) left off. Rock, Rhythm And Doo Wop was a joyous reunion of many of the original legends of rock 'n' roll and was hosted by three of that assembly's most notable luminaries: Frankie Valli, Jerry "The Iceman" Butler, and Lloyd Price. To celebrate this event with a commemorative collection of recordings, Rhino Records, created a 3-CD, 66-track boxed set of music entitled Rock, Rhythm And Doo Wop Volume 1: The Greatest Songs From Early Rock 'N' Roll. This package is, as are all Rhino Records releases, available at retail record stores everywhere. It will also be made available by those lucky PBS stations airing this fundraising special as an audio incentive for each of their local pledge drives. But in case those initial 66 tracks are not enough, Rhino Handmade has assembled a companion boxed set of an additional three CDs with, you guessed it, another 66 recordings, containing over two and a half hours of music. Rock, Rhythm And Doo Wop Volume 2: More Of The Greatest Songs From Early Rock 'N' Roll will only be available only from Rhino Handmade. Rock, Rhythm And Doo Wop Volume 2: More Of The Greatest Songs From Early Rock 'N' Roll is available as an individually-numbered limited edition of 3,000 copies. Selection # 7805 66 Tracks
