In October 2003, Nelson Mandela launched the worldwide campaign 46664 (named after his former prisoner number) to raise AIDS awareness. On November 29, 2003, the music industry mobilized for a special concert in Cape Town, South Africa. Over 40,000 attendees and a television audience of two billion witnessed performances by 23 renowned artists, including Bono, Peter Gabriel, Beyoncé, The Corrs, and Eurythmics. Highlights have been gathered for this three-part CD series. A portion of the proceeds from its sale will benefit 46664.
