Having conquered the U.K. market with their unique blend of authentic roots reggae and Rastafarian politics, Steel Pulse now looked to America to help secure their place as one of the greatest U.K. reggae acts of all time. TRUE DEMOCRACY, their 4th release and Elektra debut, found them issuing out a slicker 80s sound all while lyrically maintaining their social consciousness.
