John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd's Saturday Night Live characters Jake and Elwood Blues grew out of their humble TV skit origins to become a bonafide pop-culture phenomenon with their hit movie and gleeful covers of soul, blues and R&B chestnuts. 20 of their very best are assembled on this ultimate single disc collection to help turn you loose!

With backing from stellar musicians including Booker T. & the MGs greats Steve Cropper and Duck Dunn, the Blues Brothers' 1978 debut live album Briefcase Full Of Blues was a #1 Billboard pop album that delivered two Top 40 hits - their spirited versions of Sam & Dave's “Soul Man” (#14) and the Chips' b-side “Rubber Biscuit,” both featured here along with other stand-outs.

This anthology also pulls choice picks from the Original Soundtrack to their blockbuster 1980 film The Blues Brothers including “Think” featuring the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, “Shake Your Tailfeather” with the legendary Ray Charles, plus rollicking covers of Solomon Burke's “Everybody Needs Somebody To Love” and Robert Johnson's “Sweet Home Chicago.”

Also featured are cuts from the Brothers' second live LP, 1980's Made In America, including “Do You Love Me/Mother Popcorn (You Got To Have A Mother For Me)” and Leiber & Stoller's “Riot In Cell Block Number Nine.”

Ignited by Jake & Elwood's unending passion for the blues, the Blues Brothers' “mission from God” brought an appreciation of golden era American soul, blues and R&B to legions of new fans - and enshrined Belushi and Aykroyd's alter egos as enduring icons of 20th century popular culture.
