THE LEMONHEADSThe Best Of The Lemonheads: The Atlantic Years (Greatest Hits)$11.98 CD It's no shame - it's THE BEST OF THE LEMONHEADS: THE ATLANTIC YEARS, a twelve-track compilation spotlighting hits and favorites from 1990 - 1996. Centered on the artistry of singer-songwriter/guitarist Evan Dando (whose warm, resonant voice and cleverly crafted pop hooks often belied insurgent lyrics), the Lemonheads formed in Boston in the late '80s and signed to Atlantic in 1990. Their major label debut Lovey came out that year, but it was with 1992's It's A Shame About Ray that breakthrough success came for Dando and company's literate, melodic, left-of-center alt-rock/pop. The title track, a #5 Billboard Modern Rock chart hit, is a signature song and one of the dozen stand-outs featured here. Other classic Lemonheads tracks from their Atlantic Years - which also encompass the albums Come On Feel The Lemonheads ('93) and Car Button Cloth ('96) - are “The Great Big No,” “Confetti,” “Into Your Arms,” “My Drug Buddy,” an acoustic take on “Ride With Me” and their hit cover of Simon & Garfunkel's “Mrs. Robinson Selection # 296124 You really should take a look at these:
