 A dance-pop duo formed in the early '80s by vocalist Alison Moyet and synth ace Vince Clarke, formerly of Depeche Mode (he wrote most of their debut LP Speak & Spell), Yaz reaped great success in the heyday of synthesizer-driven, new wave-flavored U.K. dance music. They topped Billboard's Club Play Singles chart three times in'82 and '83, hitting #1 with the medley “State Farm/Nobody's Diary” and their signature smashes “Don't Go” and “Situation.”  

 Those songs are among the gems featured on this groove-laden compilation, which pulls other favorites from their two studio albums (both of which charted on Billboard's pop albums chart) - Upstairs At Eric's and You And Me Both - among them “Only You,” “Mr. Blue” and “Mr. Boy.” Also featured are four hot remixes: “Situation” (US 12” Mix), “Situation (Clue 69 Future Phunk Mix),” “Don't Go (Tee's Freeze Mix)” and “Only You (1999 Version),” which gave Yaz major dance hits with a new generation of club-goers long after they first hit the scene.
