 MOTHERSHIP is an epic and unprecedented 24-track compilation representing the very best of Led Zeppelin. The career-spanning songs were selected, sequenced and remastered under the supervision of band members Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones. The CD version of this title was released in late 2007 to coincide with the group's historic reunion for a benefit concert in London supporting the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund and honoring Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, who passed away in 2006. MOTHERSHIP is now available on audiophile vinyl as a collectible 4-LP 180-GRAM VINYL BOX edition.

Arguably the biggest rock band in the world throughout their original 12-year reign, they remain one of the most influential and innovative groups in music history.  MOTHERSHIP mines that extraordinary catalog by pulling key songs from all eight of the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers' classic Atlantic Records studio albums: Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II, Led Zeppelin III, Led Zeppelin IV, Houses Of The Holy, Physical Graffiti, Presence and In Through The Out Door. Landmark tracks include “Good Times Bad Times,” “Communication Breakdown,” “Dazed And Confused,” “Whole Lotta Love,” “Heartbreaker,” “Immigrant Song,” “Rock And Roll” “Black Dog,” “Stairway To Heaven,” “D'Yer Maker,” “Kashmir” and “All My Love.”  

 The set also features new liner notes by renowned rock journalist David Fricke. After experiencing the band's December 2007 performance at the Ertegun tribute show - with original drummer John Bonham's son Jason on drums - Fricke wrote in Rolling Stone that, “The only message they left behind was, 'We were the best - and still are.'”
