 The Replacements last album for Twin/Tone before signing with Sire, 1984's LET IT BE is widely hailed as not just one of the group's career best, but also as an across the boards alt-rock masterpiece. It is anchored by the all-time 'Mats' classics “I Will Dare,” “Androgynous,” “Sixteen Blue,” “Unsatisfied” and “Answering Machine,” and definitive performances throughout by the band's legendary founding line-up: lead singer/songwriter and guitarist Paul Westerberg, Chris Mars (drums) and brothers Bob and Tommy Stinson (guitar and bass, respectively). Rhino's remastered & expanded DELUXE EDITION also features six bonus tracks, five of them previously unreleased. 

 Blender recently named LET IT BE #3 in its list of the “100 Greatest Indie Rock Albums Ever,” writing, “Spraying pathos like Bud from a longneck, these Minneapolis fuck-ups hurled themselves through a garbled mess of hardcore, hair-of-the-dog metal and DTs piano ballads and emerged like wobbly conquistadors.  The LET IT BE (DELUXE EDITION) reissue was produced by longtime Replacements manager and Twin/Tone co-founder Peter Jesperson, who produced the original album as well. The band themselves were instrumental in selecting the six bonus tracks, five of them previously unreleased, including Westerberg's solo home demo for “Answering Machine” and an alternate version of “Sixteen Blue.” The disc also boasts the 'Mats' covers of the Grass Roots' “Temptation Eyes” and T. Rex's “20th Century Boy.” 

Rhino's upgrade of the seminal band's pre-Sire, Twin/Tone-era catalog also includes DELUXE EDITIONS of the EP Stink and the albums Sorry Ma, Forgot To Take Out The Trash and Hootenanny.
