THE REPLACEMENTSStink (Deluxe Edition)$11.98 CD When the Replacements' second Twin/Tone release, the EP STINK, dropped in June 1982, the band members had emerged from their respective garages to become an epic force in Minneapolis' vital music scene. An adrenaline-fueled masterpiece, the disc finds the group's legendary founding line-up-lead singer/songwriter and guitarist Paul Westerberg, Chris Mars (drums) and brothers Bob and Tommy Stinson (guitar and bass, respectively)-ripping through eight songs in a breathless fifteen minutes. Rhino's remastered & expanded DELUXE EDITION also features four previously unreleased bonus tracks. In the all-new liner notes, Terry Katzman writes, “Here, the band began to merge its ragged sense of honesty with true rock 'n' roll power. In essence, they had created the perfect monster-a rock band with real guts, humor, and humility.” Stand-outs tracks include “Kids Don't Follow,” “God Damn Job” and “Go.” Rhino's STINK (DELUXE EDITION) reissue was produced by longtime Replacements manager and Twin/Tone co-founder Peter Jesperson, who also produced the original EP, which was recorded at Blackberry Way Studios in Minneapolis. The band was instrumental in selecting the bonus material, comprised of four previously unreleased and rarely even heard tracks including a trio of session outtakes-“Staples In Her Stomach” and covers of “Hey, Good Lookin'” and “(We're Gonna) Rock Around The Clock”-plus Westerberg's solo home demo for “You're Getting Married.” * previously unreleased Selection # 438972 ::Watch Videos By The Replacements You really should take a look at these: |
