Dokken's debut album for Rhino, LIGHTNING STRIKES AGAIN, marks a return to form that rivals their past platinum successes. “Our goal,” says Don Dokken, “was to create an album that was our best since our heyday. This music is as good as any we did in the '80s.” Fueled, as ever, by Don Dokken's formidable lead vocals, standout tracks include “Standing On The Outside,” “Oasis” and “Heart To Stone,” all of which capture the potent crush of barbed-wire riffs and razor-sharp melodies that made Dokken one of the biggest band of the '80s and one of the most dominant and creative forces in hard rock.

The album was produced by Don Dokken and mixed by Wyn Davis (Dio, Great White). The band line-up also features Mick Brown on drums and vocals, guitarist Jon Levin and bassist Barry Sparks. True to its intent of reigniting the band's peak sound, LIGHTNING STRIKES AGAIN is named for a key track from Dokken's 1985 Top 40 album Under Lock And Key, one of their three consecutive '80s-era platinum releases - along with Tooth And Nail ('84) and Back For The Attack ('87).

Dokken first rose to fame in the early '80s out of Los Angeles' era-defining hard rock scene, a phenomenon they helped define. The group recorded their 1983 debut album Breaking The Chains in Germany, where they had major initial success. With subsequent albums and hits including “Into The Fire,” “Alone Again” and “In My Dreams,” they also became an MTV staple, and their explosive live shows kept stadiums and arenas full throughout the '80s. Dokken disbanded at the end of that decade, reforming in 1995. LIGHTNING STRIKES AGAIN is the tenth album of their career and the first since 2004's Hell To Pay
