The tracks, all driven by the group's stellar musicianship and Chrissie Hynde's signature lead vocals, are singles culled from their first four groundbreaking albums for Sire: Pretenders, Pretenders II, Learning To Crawl, and Get Close.

An essential portrait of the Pretenders' first decade, the collection opens with the group's cover of Ray Davies' “Stop Your Sobbing,” their first single. Released in the U.K. in '79, the song went Top 40 there and became a U.S. hit the following year. Their next two singles, “Kid” and “Brass In Pocket,” are also featured, as are highlights including the Top 10 Billboard® pop smashes “Back On The Chain Gang” and “Don't Get Me Wrong.”
