The classic Hollywood movie musical—a genre defined by MGM with its films from the 1920s through the 1950s—is among America's most important contributions to popular culture. In 1974 MGM marked its 50th anniversary with That's Entertainment!, a film compilation of its greatest musical moments that allowed longtime fans to re-experience movie music magic on the big screen and introduced new generations to Judy Garland, Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra, Fred Astaire, and other legendary stars. That's Entertainment! Part 2 (1976) and That's Entertainment! III (1994) followed, further mining MGM's peerless archives.
This six-disc boxed set is an essential audio companion to these cinematic treasures, presenting the original soundtrack versions of the beloved songs featured in all three films, plus a full disc of previously unreleased rarities.
