Nude On The Moon: The B-52's Anthology
$31.98 CD

The B-52’s were formed on Planet Claire (okay, in Athens, Georgia) by Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson, Keith Strickland, Cindy Wilson, and Ricky Wilson. Their infectious eponymous debut, featuring the party-starting "Rock Lobster," stood out even in the midst of the adventurous late-’70s New Wave. With a pioneering platinum record to their credit, they quickly followed with Wild Planet in 1980, Mesopotamia in 1982, and Whammy! in 1983. The B-52’s gained worldwide fame for their irreverent, high-spirited New Wave party songs, delivered with thrift-store panache and a New-Southern spin. The band survived the tragic death of Ricky Wilson from AIDS in 1985, just after completing sessions for their sadly under-appreciated Bouncing Off The Satellites album. In 1989, after a three-year hiatus, the four surviving members regrouped and hit upon their greatest commercial success with the multi-platinum Don Was-Nile Rogers-produced Cosmic Thing, featuring their intergalactic mega hit “Love Shack.” Fred, Kate, and Keith followed with Good Stuff in 1992, with Cindy later rejoining. After nearly 25 years, they continue to perform. The party is still way out of bounds! Now turn any party into a wild planet with this double-disc dose of cosmic pop. Nude On The Moon collects 35 of The B-52’s’ most stellar songs, including hits, album cuts, remixes, plus rare and live recordings. Features “Rock Lobster,” “Private Idaho,” “Love Shack,” and previously unreleased versions of “Is That You Mo-Dean?” and “Queen Of Las Vegas.”
