Inspired by A Hard Day’s Night, The Monkees television show debuted in September 1966; within weeks, Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork became a global phenomenon. As part of a yearlong 60th-anniversary celebration, Rhino explores the Emmy-winning series with Made For TV: Favorite Episodes and Biggest Hits from Season 1 of The Monkees. The LP/2-CD/Blu-Ray collection serves up the first season’s greatest hits with 14 rare, broadcast-exclusive TV mixes created especially for the show, more than two dozen songs from the season, plus 10 fan-favorite episodes (including the series premiere).
