Up until last year's reunion, ALBUM OF THE YEAR had been the final word from Faith No More for nearly 20 years, and listening to it today, it still has the feeling of a summation. "We were definitely referencing our musical roots as well, going back to darker tones visited in ANGEL DUST,” reflects keyboardist Roddy Bottum. Featuring members of the current lineup – Bottum, drummer Mike Bordin, bassist Billy Gould, guitarist Jon Hudson and singer Mike Patton – the 1997 collection was recorded mostly in Gould's home studio and produced three singles: "Ashes To Ashes," "Last Cup Of Sorrow" and "Stripsearch." A two-disc Deluxe Edition of ALBUM OF THE YEAR has just hit stores; its eight bonus tracks include live versions of the album track "Collision" and the Burt Bacharach and Hal David classic "This Guy's In Love With You," plus rare mixes of "Last Cup Of Sorrow," "Pristina" and more.
