Album of the Day
DEWDROPS IN THE GARDEN

Deee-Lite’s third and final album, DEWDROPS IN THE GARDEN, returns to the approach of their classic debut after the more political INFINITY WITHIN. “The DJ is like the guru, the booth is the altar, the dancefloor is the sacred ground we worship on,” said Lady Kier of one of the set’s tracks, but it’s an apt description of the Elektra collection as a whole. Including such highlights as “Call Me,” “Bring Me Your Love” and “Picnic in the Summertime,” the album transports listeners to the East Coast rave scene circa 1994, with a healthy dose of soul & funk mixed into the techno. With DJ On-E filling in for a departing DJ Towa Tei (who helped produce several tracks), DEWDROPS IN THE GARDEN has all the beats needed to work dance-clubbers into a sweat.
