Album of the Day
Greatest Hits
As The Cure approach their 50th year in 2028, they remain one of the most beloved bands in the world. The British indie legends were nearing the end of their long tenure with Fiction Records in 2001 when the label asked for a best-of as a final release; founder Robert Smith agreed, with the proviso that he would choose the tracks. GREATEST HITS fast became one of the group’s biggest-selling albums, featuring four U.K. Top 10 hits (“The Lovecats” and “Friday I'm in Love” among them), four U.K. Top 20 singles (including “In Between Days” and “Lovesong”) and two new tracks (“Cut Here” and “Just Say Yes”). Remastered by Smith for this 25th Anniversary Record Store Day exclusive, GREATEST HITS will be available later this month on 2-LP silver vinyl for the first time.
