There are some studio overdubs with producer Tony Visconti added to Thin Lizzy’s LIVE AND DANGEROUS, so the first part of the set's title may take a few liberties - but the danger is certainly there in these performances. The 1978 double album was cut in Philadelphia, London and Toronto over the previous two years as the Irish quartet toured in support of their JOHNNY THE FOX and BAD REPUTATION LPs. Singer Phil Lynott and the twin leads of guitarists Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson are on fire here, and such favorites as “Jailbreak,” “Cowboy Song,” “Still In Love With You” and the immortal “The Boys Are Back in Town” sound punchier than ever.
