“We did this show so you new people could see what it was like when we were around,” said Darby Crash to the Starwood audience on December 3, 1980. “You're not going to see it again.” The Germs frontman was right – he died four days later. His band (which also included 11th-hour Nirvana guitarist Pat Smear) was known for intense, sometimes chaotic performances, and with LIVE AT THE STARWOOD, their final concert saw release in its entirety for the first time ever. Featuring singles “Forming” and “Lexicon Devil” along with most of their sole album (GI), the Rhino Handmade collection is a fitting tribute to one of L.A.’s most legendary punk groups.
