Talking Heads

When Brian Eno saw Talking Heads play a gig at London club The Rock Garden, it was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. The musician/conceptualist would produce the band's next three albums (and collaborate with lead singer David Byrne on another) starting with 1978's MORE SONGS ABOUT BUILDINGS AND FOOD. The quartet's sophomore album showed the Heads further building their rhythmic base and went Gold on the strength of their cover of Al Green's “Take Me To The River,” which became a Top 40 hit. MORE SONGS remains as danceable as it is eccentric, and we’ll cue it up again now to wish Byrne a happy birthday.
