Talking Heads
When Brian Eno saw Talking Heads play a 1977 gig at London club The Rock Garden, he was sufficiently impressed to offer his services as producer; MORE SONGS ABOUT BUILDINGS AND FOOD became the first of three collaborations between the musician/conceptualist and the band. The quartet's sophomore album showed the Heads further building their rhythmic base and went Gold on the strength of their cover of Al Green's “Take Me To The River,” which became a Top 40 hit. As danceable as it is eccentric, MORE SONGS also turned the group into critical favorites, and the 1978 set has been hailed by the likes of Rolling Stone, Pitchfork and NME as one of the best of its decade.
