The Cars

The Cars’ fourth studio set, SHAKE IT UP, continued the Boston band’s hit-making ways, reaching the Top 10 on Billboard’s Album chart. Producer Roy Thomas Baker returned for the last time to helm the 1981 Elektra collection; for the first time, the group had the luxury of recording in their own studio. The quintet put the additional freedom to good use, coming up with nine solid new wave originals including “Since You're Gone,” “Maybe Baby” and the title track – The Cars’ first Top 10 single. We’ll wish drummer David Robinson a happy birthday with another spin of the double-Platinum SHAKE IT UP.
