The late, great David Lynch earned a reputation as one of the world’s top film directors, but it may be a TV series that goes down in history as his masterpiece - TWIN PEAKS. The bizarre Pacific Northwest-set mystery was all about mood, and Angelo Badalamenti’s music did a lot to establish it. The cues remain instantly recognizable (though heard here in full-length form), but even if you never wondered who killed Laura Palmer, there’s still a lot to love for fans of finger-snapping cool jazz and ominous instrumentals. Dream-pop chanteuse Julee Cruise provides ethereal vocals to three tracks, including the main theme.
