Hatebreed
Few bands are more intense than Bridgeport, Connecticut’s Hatebreed. The group’s fourth studio set and sole release on Roadrunner Records, SUPREMACY was described by frontman Jamey Jasta as an “all-out onslaught of completely adrenaline-charged, in-your-face brutality,” and that’s right on the money. The 2006 collection, including such highlights as “Defeatist,” “Destroy Everything,” and “To the Threshold,” has an aggressive sound (helped by the addition of guitarist Frank Novinec) but also frequently inspiring themes, urging listeners to overcome depression and anxiety with a supremacy of self. SUPREMACY debuted in Billboard’s Top 40, confirming Hatebreed’s status as metalcore masters.
