THIS IS… ICONA POP
Stockholm music students Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo met at a party in 2009 and knew right away that they’d found kindred spirits. As Icona Pop, the synth-pop duo released a Swedish-only album that included “I Love It,” a single that took on a life of its own through placement in countless TV series and commercials. The track, which features a guest turn by Charli XCX, was also included on 2012’s international debut This Is… Icona Pop - along with ten irresistible new songs. With help from a raft of top producers, these exuberant vocalists turn highlights like “Girlfriend,” “Just Another Night” and “In the Stars” into anthems that stretch the emotional canvas. A Gold-certified hit that made the Top 10 on Billboard’s Dance chart, This Is… Icona Pop serves up all the summer fun you could want.
