The Cure
Three Imaginary Boys provided plenty of evidence that The Cure was a band worth watching. The 1979 debut from the British post-punk group probably reflects more of producer Chris Parry's input than frontman Robert Smith would have liked, but no matter – the album remains a highlight of the band's catalog. The U.K. collection includes a dozen originals (plus a Hendrix cover, of all things), most of which would see U.S. release on the Boys Don't Cry album, and features indie pop that’s as edgy as it is catchy. The Deluxe Edition of Three Imaginary Boys makes a good thing even better, with a full disc's worth of bonus material including home and studio demos, outtakes and live tracks.
