Formed by students at the University of Cambridge in 2008, Clean Bandit has become one of England’s most innovative electronic dance acts. The group’s second album, WHAT IS LOVE?, added reggae grooves to the classical touches familiar to fans; the trio’s Jack Patterson described it as “kind of this tropical, plastic-y, mournful sound.” While its look at love’s ups and downs is more serious than the band’s debut, the 2018 Atlantic collection still filled dancefloors with such smash U.K. singles as “Rockabye,” “I Miss You” and “Solo.” Featuring guest vocals from Demi Lovato, Sean Paul, Ellie Goulding, Charli XCX and many others, WHAT IS LOVE? reached the Top 10 on the British Album chart and #1 on Billboard’s EDM chart.
