Instagram, Ahoy! #LearnToPlayTheDoors with Robby Krieger
It’s hard to say that being thrust into the midst of a global pandemic has been fun, but it’s surprisingly easy to declare this whole crazy situation to be an educational experience, and not just because how much information – and, yes, misinformation – we’ve all learned about COVID-19 and how to avoid getting it. As it happens, many musicians have been using their abrupt abundance of free time to step in front of the camera and show their fans how to perform some of their most iconic tunes.
Case and point: our good friend Robby Krieger of The Doors, who’s thus far offered up three – count ‘em – three videos, which have thus far found him demonstrating how to play “Roadhouse Blues,” “Moonlight Drive,” and “People Are Strange.”
In turn, fans have been showing just how much they’ve learned from Krieger’s impromptu tutorials by posting their own videos on Instagram with the hashtag #LearnToPlayTheDoors, showing off their best attempts at duplicating his licks.
