David Bowie STAY 97 Cover

Attention, all David Bowie fans! If you’ve been paying attention, then you’ve probably noticed that we’ve been slowly but surely releasing tracks from his IS IT ANY WONDER? EP – a collection of six unreleased and rare tracks – and we’ve been doing so at a rate of one per week.

This week, as the title to this piece has already spoiled, the title in question is “Stay,” a song which originally debuted on Bowie’s 1976 album STATION TO STATION. He re-recorded the tune in 1997 as part of a plan to update some of his classic tracks in order for them to better mesh with the music he was recording at the time, i.e. on his OUTSIDE and EARTHLING albums.

If this whole IS IT ANY WONDER thing is totally blowing your mind right now, don’t worry: we’ve got a playlist that includes the previous two songs from the EP – “The Man Who Sold the World” (the CHANGESNOWBOWIE version) and “I Can’t Read ‘97” – as well as this one.

Check back next week to see what the next song will be!
