By the end of the 1970s, Fleetwood Mac was among the biggest bands in America. The group had climbed to the pinnacle of the charts and box office receipt returns, but paid a brutal price to get there. After the stratospheric success of Rumours and relatively muted response to Tusk, Mick Fleetwood and company loaded up separate limousines to take all of that wild energy on the road.

Kicking off the jaunt in Pocatello, Idaho, on October 26, 1979, and winding around the globe before wrapping up with two nights at the Hollywood Bowl, Fleetwood Mac made a point of recording every show on the tour. The fruits of those efforts emerged on December 8, 1980, in the form of Fleetwood Mac Live. The double-live album captured the heat and electricity of the tour, as well as a collection of stellar performances that prove people don't have to even like each other to sound absolutely amazing together.

The entire band shines across the record, with Lindsey Buckingham's impassioned performances particularly striking during the one-two punch of the manic "Not That Funny" followed by the bucolic "Never Going Back Again" on Side 2. Stevie Nicks' timeless "Landslide" closes the side perfectly.

Thirty years later, and this deluxe edition of Fleetwood Mac Live hurdles back to that hazy era as the 1970s slammed into the '80s.
